Your Belly Is Full……. Now What?

December 27, 2015 by Rita Merienne

You have had a great Christmas day, your belly is full … now what? For me a full belly is just another way of saying my life is complete and I have a full and fulfilled life. My resilience, my love tank, the ying and yang, the heart and soul or your ideal life – it really doesn’t matter how you say it.

It is just a way of saying you are content with your life and everything is in balance.

No it doesn’t mean everything is perfect it means it is perfect for you and for me it shows me the area where you can make it better.

It’s Boxing Day and for me it is time for reflection… boxing up all those things no longer needed and getting ready for a new year.

Making plans.

Setting goals.

Making intentions.

Sorting out the new year.

Santa is so very thoughtful and I always receive a diary for Christmas and for me Boxing Day is all about getting the important dates in the diary – birthdays, anniversaries and important dates. That then leads into planning for the year… setting intentions and goals. I personally don’t like the term “new year resolutions”. I prefer setting intentions.

A very big part of my Boxing Day is boxing up – no not in the physical sense (although I probably should do that too-it is always good to declutter) but I am talking about the negative self talk, you know the “should haves”, “maybe If I hads”, “if onlys” or any of the other negative things I say to myself. I take the time to reflect on the year and look to the future to build resilience.

I look at what areas I need to reclaim myself and make some plans.

I spend part of the day making plans (I do love a list).

I find it very satisfying to make the plans on Boxing Day, for a number of reasons – using the motivation of having a full belly, of being content, of feeling the love and blessings of a Christmas gathering.

What things are you boxing up?

I am boxing up the unhelpful thoughts, the self sabotaging thoughts and the “should haves”.

Is your bell full?
